Tuesday Stack - Yes I know it is Thursday!

A couple of days late, but working on the better late than never theory here.
I love this stack.  Thank you Diane for stacking again.  These soft blue greens are perhaps my favourite of all colours.
Aurora Teal by Tilda
Crumb Cake Marshmallow from Moda
Sevenberry Mink Linen Spot
Peach Cobbler Blueberry from Moda
Rococo Sweet from Lecien
Miss Kate Sundae Grey from Bonnie and Camille
Very Spotty Duck Egg Blue Mini from Kokka
You can buy a fat quarter of each of these fabrics here.  These colours remind me of the amazing quilt I saw at QSM of a kina shell on the beach, the quilt is called Fragility - mina on Rangiputa by Mathea Daunheimer.  I since found out that the quilt won the viewers choice at Quilt Symposium.  Very well deserved.

Tuesday Stack - Make it Work

Another season of Project Runway has come to an end and I don't know what I will do on Thursday evenings.  This stack is based on a new fabric, Make it Work from Michael Miller.  When I think of Make it Work I think of the lovely Tim Gunn.

The fabrics in this week's stack are:

Miss Kate Sunshine Grey from Bonnie and Camille
Colour Full Words Grey by Jennifer Sampou
Miss Kate Sundae Tangerine from Bonnie and Camille
Fly Away Cross Stitch from Dashwood Studios
Make it Work from Michael Miller
Colour Full Math Azalea by Jennifer Sampou
Sewing Studio Tape Measures from Robert Kaufman

So whatever you are creating - make it work.

First Finish for 2015 - Rainbow Explosion Quilt

This quilt has been in my pile for quite some time, so it feels good to finally have it finished.  It is made up of lots of half square triangles.  I hate squaring up HST, but love the look of them.

This quilt is based on the the Rainbow Stash Buster quilt from the book Modern Quilts from the Blogging Universe.  It stalled first time around as the pattern said you needed x number of fabrics.  Without looking very closely, I started making up lots of HST, but when I started to lay out the quilt quickly discovered to get a similar look you needed more variety in your fabrics.  Consequently I have a lot of left over HST and the long pause in the making.

It has been "claimed" by Midget - she needs another quilt apparently.  Here she is wrapped in it on a hot Wellington afternoon.

The colours make me happy.

The backing chose itself.

Tuesday Stack - In the Pink

This week's stack was put together by Diane.

The fabrics are:

XOXO in Plummy Silver from Cotton and Steel
Miss Kate Sundae Apple by Bonnie and Camille for Moda
Garden Pindot Black from Robert Kaufman
Geo Pop Canvas Cross In Pink from Robert Kaufman

I love how the grey pinks and greens work together.

Tuesday Stack - Back to Work and Back to Stacking - Day of the Dead Style

From top to bottom:
Mustang Daisies Pink from Cotton and Steel
Baile de Calaveras by Alexander Henry
Green Medium Spot from Kokka
Mini Calaveras Black by Alexander Henry
Mimosa Beginnings Aqua by Windham Fabrics
The inspiration fabric behind this week's stack was Baile de Calaveras

I was not quick enough with the camera today.  Mr S was being silly and photo-bombing the Tuesday stack and for that he is in this blog post.  (He says his image is copyright - Yeah Right!). He is a silly sausage.

Happy New Year!
